University College Dublin (UCD) has been shortlisted for the 2015 US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards which are being jointly presented by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and the Royal Irish Academy.

The Awards were established to recognise excellence in research innovation in Ireland as a result of US foreign direct investment. The awards, in three categories, supported by both KPMG and Ulster Bank, aim to acclaim exemplary ideas, originating in Ireland, which have made a social and economic impact through research innovation in meeting market needs.

UCD is among a shortlist of 5 in the Irish higher education institution or research institute with collaborative links with the US corporate sector in Ireland category.

The university has been shortlisted for its application from Professor John Murphy and Professor Liam Murphy, UCD School of Computer Science and Informatics.

The application outlines the impact of UCD’s decade-long research relationship with IBM through the UCD Performance Engineering Laboratory including the establishment in 2010 of Logentries the successful UCD log management spin-out company.
