New page

Nicola Stokes, Toyotaro Suzumura and Anthony Ventresque '''organised''' the [http://elsc.ucd.ie/ First Irish Workshop on Effective Large Scale Computing for Big Data Analytics (ELSC 2014)].

The aim of this workshop was to bring together members of the Irish academia and industry to raise awareness about recently started research programmes on Big Data Analytics (INSIGHT (SFI), Lero (SFI), Ceadar (EI), Graph CREST (JST)) and in particular large scale computing. The workshop facilitated discussion on software platforms, open libraries and data, as well as exciting real-world problems currently addressed through effective large scale computing solutions.

The Irish landscape in data analytics is booming, with the main funding agencies and universities in Ireland working together to advance the research frontiers in this area, in collaboration with industry partners, from established brands in data analytics innovation, to exciting new entrants. You are all welcome to design Ireland into the European hub for Big Data Analytics.
