Welcome to Nicola Stokes, new research fellow in the group.

Dr Nicola Stokes has over 10 years experience in academic research, project management and research administration. In previous, posts she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University College Dublin, the University of Melbourne and National ICT Australia (NICTA). Most recently, she held the position of Research Officer in the School of Computer Science and Informatics, UCD.

Her area of research expertise is Statistical Natural Language Processing, Text and Data Mining. She is currently a collaborator on an SFI-funded project SKIMMER, which is investigating next-generation search engines that can automatically skim read documents, and generate exact answers to complex biological and clinical queries proposed by medical professionals.
